Similar to a chili-flavored miso paste. Gochujang paste has a strong umami flavor. Since it is a paste, its intense flavor and thick texture can be thinned out with oil, stock or water to make it into a delectable sauce. This condiment paste is used in marinating a Korean-style barbecue or to add to dipping sauces, or can be added to Korean soups and stews to add heat and texture.
